The band KANSAS describes themselves as “six bumpkins from Topeka that wore jeans, t-shirts, overalls and cowboy boots.” Since releasing their first album in 1974, the band has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums, one platinum live album and a million-selling gold single. With hits like Dust in the Wind, they appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the 1970’s and 80’s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums in North America, Europe and Japan. Their hit carry On Wayward Son was the #2 most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to #1 in 1997. In 2006, KANSAS released a two-disc anthology Works in Progress which features a decade’s worth of studio and live albums as well as home videos.
